We enjoy the process of photography, from location scouting, to framing the shot and hitting the shutter button. Even before that, we love the gear and the technology. But, even in today's world of digital everything, it really is the final print that matters.

Ultimately, there is something special about a tangible piece of art that you can feel and experience in the real world, and that you can hang on your wall. To us, photography seems ephemeral, more so than ever before, if there is no print at the end of the process.

We create prints using our own in-house equipment, as well as using speciality suppliers for unique prints like those on metal or canvas. For prints on photo paper up to 13x19 inches, we print in-house on Canon photo paper with Canon Pixma printers. This gives us the ability to go with a nearly 100 percent Canon workflow from start to finish.

In the case of this example, we started the process shooting at the site using the Canon EOS 5D MkIII and the EF 24-105 f/4 L lens. Back at the digital darkroom, we processed the raw file from the camera in Canon's Digital Photo Professional (DPP) version 4. This gave us a TIF that we then processed additionally using software from Topaz Labs and, finally, in Pixelmator.

After that, it was back to DPP for final processing as a print.

With the print job set up, we sent the print to our Pixma Pro printer which began the process of printing on high-quality Canon Semi-Gloss photo paper. The resulting print has incredible detail and beautiful, rich color.
